Maojam

Maojam is an innovative mobile app that offers users a new platform for sharing and rating short video and audio clips. With a particular focus on smooth interaction and intuitive navigation through various gestures, Maojam makes rating uploaded content playful and seamless.

• User-friendly interface: Maojam is designed to be simple and intuitive, making it accessible even for newcomers.
• Content sharing: users can upload their own audio or video clips and share them with the community, with a focus on short clips that encourage engagement.
• Voting: a unique, interactive rating system lets users upvote (swipe right), downvote (swipe left), or supervote (swipe up, limited to three per day); clips left untouched are automatically marked as a dislike after a set time.
• Account creation and login: users can create accounts with their email address or sign in directly via Gmail and Facebook; viewing and voting on clips requires no login, but uploading content does.
• Social interaction: logged-in users can follow their favorite creators and comment on positively rated clips, fostering a sense of community.
• Search and filters: robust filtering and search functionality, including hashtags, make it easy to find interesting content.
• Statistics: users can view voting statistics for individual clips.

Maojam was built as an Ionic app for Android and iOS, with a backend powered by the Flow framework for efficient data processing and seamless interactions. Clips are streamed via AWS CloudFront, ensuring reliable performance and scalability.

Maojam’s design emphasizes user engagement through its innovative voting system and social features. By letting users interact with content in multiple ways (viewing, voting, commenting), the app fosters a lively community atmosphere, while the daily supervote limit encourages users to think critically about their ratings.
