IBME Learning Tool (SCORM Application)

A SCORM-based e-learning application built for the University of Zurich, letting students organize and rate research text fragments through an interactive, responsive tool.

The application is a text research tool that lets students work through assigned tasks in an engaging, structured way. PIT Solutions partnered with Atfront AG, a learning agency focused on UI/UX, and the University of Zurich to deliver a user-friendly, fully responsive solution built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

The tool generates SCORM packages (Shareable Content Object Reference Model, a standard for web-based educational technology) from the entered content, making the output interoperable with other SCORM-based learning management systems. Students can select single or multiple text fragments, assign them to a list, remove them, or move them between lists, and rate them either by scope (1–10) or by a combined scope-and-ratio score; finished lists can be copied directly into Trello for further project management.

All generated packages comply with the SCORM 1.2 standard and are ultimately used within OLAT, the learning management system developed and operated by the University of Zurich. The application supports German and English (extensible to further languages) and is compatible with IE11+, Microsoft Edge 14+, and the latest versions of Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
