Baloti

Baloti is a platform built mainly for the migrant population living in Switzerland. It allows them to follow the Swiss direct democratic process in real time and thus become familiar with an important aspect of the country's political system. Baloti is accessible in the eleven most-spoken languages of Switzerland.

Site administrators can create election polls with corresponding arguments and recommendations submitted by different organizations, both in favor and against. During a defined voting period, registered visitors can review these positions and cast their own votes; results are published once the voting period ends. The baloti.ch project is run by an interdisciplinary team at the Zentrum für Demokratie Aarau, under the University of Zurich, in cooperation with the University of Neuchâtel.
